Nothing like waking up to expect a glorious sunrise only to have May Gray sock your dreams. But, the burn off around 10AM wasn’t too shabby. However, when you have a seven story parking garage left unattended and you kindly ask the purveyors (The Platform in Culver City to be a bit more specific) of such a prime piece of west-LA real estate to host a show, you jump when they say yes. You also find a few of the most detailed, DIY, historically significant and fun memories of true Japanese tuning culture. Rywire firing up the beast of their exquisite Honda S2000 Mugen beauty. Big Mike turning up in his right-hand drive TE27 Corolla, which sat very pretty next to one of the most detailed Toyota Supra builds we’ve ever encountered (owned by Enrique Munoz). But we couldn’t have ignored a legend lurking among the streets of LA, an R32 Skyline Tommy Kaira fresh from Japan and the newest series at Donut Media, Miracle Whips, our friends at Top Rank Importers brought the heat! Heeding to a last minute request, Johnson Mac brought his track spec RX-7 rotary magic. (photos: Andrew Maness)
